Every day I get LITTLE BETTER

After suffering with Arthritis and chronic Asthma for nearly 6 years, Mrs. Shiny aged 80years was admitted to Akanksha Assisted Living centre in June 2017.

She took few days to get adjusted to the new environment & socialize with the team. Her daily routine activities were taken care by the staffs. She had physiotherapy sessions for two hours every day. Therapists focused on strengthening bilateral lower limbs and quadriceps, to restore ROM (range of motion). She has made good progress and is able to get out of bed and walk with walker.

Shiny is happy to see her mobility and continues with her treatment.

Don’t give up HOPE

Mrs. Vidhya aged 64 years, was admitted to Akanksha Assisted living centre in the end of May 2017 with the diagnosis of stroke on the left-side of her brain, which caused weakness on the right-side of her body. She was unable to walk, to talk, or to handle any of her personal care.

Once admitted, she was under the care of doctor, nurses, attendant, physiotherapists, speech therapists as well as psychologist. Within a month, there was passive mobilization of upper and lower extremities on her right-side and significant improvement in muscle power. Today, she is at a point where she can stand up and walk with support.

Speech Therapists visit her once in a week for a 30 minute session and with consistent practice of her own she has made a remarkable progress in the clarity of her speech. Her interest in reading has helped to build on her speech, giving her more confidence and allowing her to take the risks necessary to make these gains.
